The recently sold farm assurance audit work undertaken by CMS UK gave the company a sound agricultural base via regular contact with over 9000 livestock farmers (mainly dairy farmers) across England and Wales. This work gave CMS UK a unique knowledge of dairy and livestock farming, together with the in depth administration required to maintain large databases for both quality assurance and accreditation system.

Information gathering for National Utilities

CMS UK offer specialist staff in England and Wales creating a national network of trained assessors and information gatherers, whose agricultural backgrounds and expertise place CMS UK well to act as agents on behalf of National Utilities and their suppliers whose apparatus travel through agricultural land.

CMS UK collate data to:

• Deal with Wayleave Agreements
• Introduce new projects / schemes
• Surveying / mapping of apparatus

Under the farm assurance umbrella, CMS UK staff dealt, on a weekly basis, with hundreds of farmers and businesses. Approximately 200 questions asked and answered for each of the 5000 dairy farms visited per annum. This data was processed for analysis, within an administration team based at the CMS UK Head Office in Crewe, to support the field staff collating the data on farm.

Through this on farm contact, we were able to both identify additional services and information required by those farmers, and CMS UK introduced appropriate services and joint working, which helped to meet the needs of this large farmer client base.
